Welcome to the website of Metropolitan A.M.E. Church, the National Cathedral of African Methodism. Since our founding, in 1838, we have been spreading Christ’s liberating gospel in Washington, DC through our various ministries and outreach. The church has also had an historic voice in the lives of black people and others throughout the nation and world.

Worship with us on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and
on Wednesdays at noon for our Hour of Power Service.
Church School is held on Sundays at 10:30 a.m., and Bible
Study is held on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. We are located
